Jaquelyn Rae Van Ginkel was born August 3, 1949 in Milaca, MN to Lawrence and Sylvia (Van De Riet) Timmer. She attended Pease Christian School through elementary age and graduated from Milaca High School in 1967. Jackie continued her education at Dordt College to be a teacher. She taught at Rock Valley Christian School as well as Inwood Christian School. On December 29, 1971, she married Ronald H. Van Ginkel at Pease Christian Reformed Church in Pease, MN. The couple made their home in Inwood, IA until 1983 when they moved to Orange City, IA. In 1988 Jackie and Ron moved to Maurice, IA and in 2004 she moved to Sioux Center. Jackie was a wonderful stay-at-home mom until her children were older. She then worked part time at Casey’s Bakery, full-time in the Dordt business office for over ten years, and at Hills Electronics in the photo department.
Jackie’s faith was very important to her and evident in all that she did. She was an avid reader, true prayer warrior, enjoyed attending Bible studies and served as a Pastoral Care Elder. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend; a conduit of God’s grace to many. She faithfully modeled thankfulness and selflessness even as she suffered under the continual burden of multiple health issues over the last 30 years. Grandma Jack loved watching the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings, but especially enjoyed anything involving her grandchildren. Her love, attention, wit, and living testimony will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son, Chris (Heidi) Van Ginkel of Sioux Center and their children, Caleb, Ethan and Alexis; daughter, Gina (Michael) De Boer of Sioux Center and their children, Kylie, Carter and Camden; daughter, Jessica (Forrest) Cavale of Visalia, CA and their children, Finn and Beck; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence; and infant brother, Larry.
She lived her life for her Lord and wanted to share His good news with others, shining His light through her unwavering JOY and faith; giving all the glory to God.
