Lorraine Schaap, age 88, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, October 12, 2018 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, IA.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Pastors Bob Pollema and Dave Smit officiating.
A prayer service for the family will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 16th from 5-7 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and gifts the family requests that memorials be directed to Sioux Center Christian School where Lorraine enjoyed her years as a part of the office staff.
Lorraine (Hochbaum) Schaap was born on June 24, 1930 to Albert and Emma Hochbaum in Westbrook, Minnesota. She married Lester Schaap on November 29, 1960 at the Leota Christian Reformed Church. To this union three children were born.
Those left to cherish her memory including her husband, are Ivan and Jude Schaap, Glenda and Walter Van Laren, along with her grandchildren Brandee Schaap, Shannon Schaap, Jade Schaap, Tyler Buckner, Alyson and Chad Van Ravenswaay, Kyle Van Laren, Eric and Jessica Van Laren and Blake Van Laren. She was blessed with two great grandchildren Kip and Boyd Moret.
Lorraine is survived by brother and sister in-laws Wesley and Karen Schaap, Lloyd and Luella Schaap and special family members from Westbrook, Minnesota.
Lorraine is proceeded in death by son Quentin Lee, brother and sister in-laws Marion Schaap, Harold and Wilma Schaap, Arnold and Mavis Schaap and dear aunts, uncles and cousins from Westbrook, Minnesota.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff of Sioux Center Health and Royale Meadows for the exceptional loving and patient care provided throughout the years.
