Hermina Richmond, 99, of Sioux Center, died Thursday, June 14th, 2018 at Pleasant Acres Care Center of Hull, Iowa.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Monday, June 18th, 2018 in the Chapel of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Stephen Breen, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center, IA.
Visitation with the family present will be held an hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall of First Reformed Church.
Hermina "Fritz" Richmond was born May 15, 1919 to Henry and Johanna (Westra) Lammers on a farm near Maurice, Iowa. She attended Center Township #6 country school and graduated from Sioux Center High school.
On June 20, 1939, Hermina married Frank Richmond in Tama, Iowa. The couple moved to Bellflower, California where, Hermina worked in a Hardware store. The couple farmed near Butler, Missouri. In July 1977 the couple retired to Sioux Center.
She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Over the years, Hermina served as a Sunday School and family night teacher and was a member of the Ruth circle.
In her free time, Hermina enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.
Hermina is survived by a daughter, Janice Bayer of LeMars; grandson, Dan Bayer of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters: Betty Van Wyk and Hendrene Kalsbeck all of Sioux Center and sister-in-law, Adeline Lammers of Hull. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Richmond; her parents; three siblings: Stan Lammers and his wife Nancy, Dick Lammers, Nelvina Mulder her husband Harry and brothers-in-law: Elmer Van Wyk, Milo Kalsbeck and Jason Vander Heiden.
