Richard Cameron age 66 of Sioux Center, IA died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Dan Kruse, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center, IA.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Monday, April 23rd with family present at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
Richard Cameron was born September 11, 1951 at Little Rock, AK the son of Minor and Ruby (Dillard) Cameron. Richard grew up at Little Rock, AK and later he attended Westport High School in Kansas City, MO, graduating in 1969. Richard served his country in the United States Air Force for ten years and earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. Richard was united in marriage to Hope DeVries on January 7, 1983 at Ardmore, OK. They made their home in Texas and Oklahoma for a short while before moving to Sioux Center. Richard worked for Joe’s Ready Mix for four years. He then became employed at Link Manufacturing in Sioux Center where retired as the production foreman in June of 2017 after twenty-eight years of loyal service. Richard enjoyed watching Nascar and was an avid animal lover. He will be greatly missed by his furry friends. In his spare-time he enjoyed cooking and tinkering, making various woodworking projects.
Richard Cameron was survived by his wife, Hope Cameron of Sioux Center, IA; brother-in-law, Howard (Doris) DeVries of Houston, TX and nephew, Corey DeVries of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Minor and Ruby; sister-in-law, Holy Garland and brother-in-law, Hodd DeVries along with many uncles, aunts and cousins.
