     Marvin Brouwer 60 of Sioux Center, IA died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, IA.

     Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Stephen Breen, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center, IA.

     Visitation will be Sunday, March 25th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. with family present at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

     Marvin Brouwer was born November 3, 1957 at Orange City, IA the son of John and Vera (Levering) Brouwer. Marv grew up in Maurice and attended MOC High School, graduating in 1976. On July 29, 1977, he was united in marriage to Doris Ann Gorter at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA. They made their home in Sioux Center and Marv worked as a Carpenter and most recently he worked as a welder at Kooima Manufacturing Company in Rock Valley. Marv was a longtime member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around. Marv will be forever remembered as a wonderful husband to Doris, father to Tyler and Angie, and grandfather to his two grandchildren. His family remembers spending time at the lakes area, taking a casual boat ride or fishing, he enjoyed teaching his grandson, Reece how to fish. In his spare time, he could be found tinkering and building, either making something out of wood or rebuilding something mechanical. He had an eye for detail and it was evident in the fine craftmanship. One thing Marv enjoyed was taking a ride, either on his BMW motorcycle, boat rides or a ride in his truck with his dog. 18 months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer and he battled until the end. Marv died this past Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018 at the age of sixty at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center, IA.

     Marvin is survived by his wife, Doris of Sioux Center, IA; his son, Tyler (Cindi) Brouwer of Sioux Center, IA; two grandchildren, Reece and Kadence Brouwer of Sioux Center, IA; mother, Vera Brouwer of Sheldon, IA; sister, Betty (Garret) Visser of Sioux Center, IA; brother, Glen (Shari) Brouwer of Sioux Center, IA; sister, Ruth Flemming of Vancouver, WA; mother-in-law, Jeanette Gorter of Doon, IA; brothers-in-law, Darrell Gorter of Bellevue, WA and Dennis (Tracy) Gorter of Sheldon, IA.

     He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angie Brouwer; father, John Brouwer; father-in-law, Lawrence Gorter and brother-in-law, Kevin Gorter.
