Margaret "Mike" Erickson

     Margaret "Mike" Erickson 81 of Sioux Center, IA died Saturday, February 24th, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. IA.

      Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Thursday, March 1, 2018 at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Steve Breen officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, IA.

     Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28th from 5 – 7 PM with family present at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, IA.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Sioux Center Hospital for the purchase of a BiPAP (bilevel positive air pressure) machine so other families can spend time with loved ones at their local hospital.

Margaret “Mike” Erickson was born September 7th, 1936 at Sioux Center, IA the child of Fred Cleveringa and Fanny (Schut) Cleveringa.  She grew up in Sioux Center where she attended Sioux Center High School and graduated in 1954.  Mike, as she became known, was united in marriage to Lee Erickson on August 7th, 1965 in First Reformed Church at Sioux Center.  They made their home in Sioux Center, IA.   She was an avid bowler and dedicated bowling secretary for numerous years and she enjoyed traveling to numerous bowling tournaments.  She was a member of the Women's Bowling Association.  She was also a dedicated employee at Co-op Gas and Oil.  Mike loved visiting with family and seeing her grandchildren in her later years.

      Margaret is survived by her husband, Lee Erickson; sons, Brian (Jodi) Erickson of Kenyon, MN; Scott Erickson of Sioux Center, IA; grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel and granddaughter, Ruthann of Kenyon, MN; brothers, John (Marjorie) Cleveringa of Sioux Center, IA; Garold (Chris) Cleveringa of Sioux Center, IA;  sisters, Wilma Kraayenbrink of Sioux Center, IA, Frances (Tunis) Vollink of Hull, IA; sister-in-law Theresa Cleveringa of Sioux Center, IA. 

      She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Nelson Cleveringa; brother, Tunis Cleveringa; sister-in-law, Ila Cleveringa; and brother-in-law, Harry Kraayenbrink.
