Ravina Kaemingk-De Zeeuw

November 20, 1935 — January 29, 2018

     Ravina Kaemingk-De Zeeuw age 82 of Sioux Center, IA died Monday, January 29, 2018 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.

 

     Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 1st at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA, with Rev. Bob Holtrop officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

 

     Visitation will be Thursday, February 1st from 12:30 PM until the hour of service at the church.

     Donations can be given to Atlas of Sioux Center and/or The Center for Finacial Education - Sioux Center.

 

     Ravina Leona Mulder was born November 20, 1935 at Doon, Iowa, the daughter of Ray B and Anne (Van Otterloo) Mulder. She was raised on a family farm between Rock Valley and Hull, IA. She attended country school through the 8th grade.

 

     She was united in marriage to Theodore Kaemingk Jr. on February 22, 1960 at Rock Valley, IA. Together they moved to an acreage near Sioux Center, IA. Two children were blessed to this union, Kathy and Kelvin. On September 4, 1973 Ravina’s husband Ted died after 13 years of marriage. She was remarried to Gerrit De Zeeuw on November 2, 1979 at Sioux Center, IA. Gerrit died on May 14, 2002 after 22 years of marriage.  

 

     She worked various places in the area such as, The Radio Factory in Hawarden and provided house cleaning for families. She later worked for Coast to Coast and Nobel Labs, both in Sioux Center. She enjoyed flower gardening, crafts, reading, coloring and attending musical programs. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

 

     She is survived by her children, Kathy Van Voorst of Hull, IA and Kelvin (Jennifer) Kaemingk of Eagan, MN ; step-children, Dennis (Mary) De Zeeuw of Sioux Center, IA and Glen (Carolyn) De Zeeuw of Windsor, CO; grandchildren, Kaylee, Brandy, and Tory Van Voorst, Karissa, Kyle and Kollin Kaemingk; step-grandchildren, Sherri (Ben) Langton, Doug and Chris (Jen) De Zeeuw; four step-great-grandchildren; sister, Arletta (Clarence) Dorhout of Orange City, IA; brothers, Bernard Mulder of Sheldon, IA, and Harley (Elsie Jean) Mulder of Highlands Ranch, CO; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

 

     She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Anne Mulder; 1st husband, Theodore Kaemingk Jr.; and 2nd husband, Gerrit De Zeeuw; and two sisters-in-law, Harriet Mulder and Linda Mulder.
