Douglas Lee Hoppe Sr.

     Doug Hoppe Sr., age 65, of Sioux Center, IA, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.

     Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at New Life Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev Dan Kruse officiating.

     Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center, IA.

     Visitation will be Monday, December 11th with family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

      In lieu of flowers family wish memorials be directed to American Cancer Society.

     Douglas Lee Hoppe Sr. was born on November 2, 1952 in Carrington, ND, the son of John and Yvonne (Gross) Hoppe. He grew up in the Carrington, ND area. On June 23, 1972, he was united in marriage to Florinda Gerdes. Doug started working in the construction business for his dad when he was 16. Later, Doug purchased the business from his dad and brought the business to Sioux Center. There he owned and operated Hoppe Construction for 30 plus years. Doug was a member of the New Life Reformed Church. He was an avid fisherman and even participated on the pro circuit for a short time. He also loved hunting & working on custom show cars and going on trips with his wife and family.

     Doug is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Florinda Hoppe of Sioux Center, IA; daughter, Crystal (Todd) Nibbelink, and their children Zackery and Raina all of Hull, IA; son, Douglas Jr. (Heidi) Hoppe, and their children Austin and Preston all of Hull, IA; three sisters: Vicky (Ty) Edelman of Glendive, MT, Pam (Mike) Dellinger of Yakima, WA, and Karen Rudolph of Lincoln, ND; and several other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Yvonne Hoppe; infant sister, Sandra Hoppe; and two brothers: Kevin Hoppe and John Hoppe Jr.
