Marie Van Kley age 91 of Sioux Center, IA died Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center, IA.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 28, 2017 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Rev. John Lee and Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating.
Prayer service for family and friends will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
In lieu of flowers, family wish memorials to be directed to Sioux Center Christian School and Hull Christian School.
Marie Van Kley was born September 9, 1925 near Sioux Center, IA to John B. and Marie (Aanen) Haverhals. She was raised near Lebanon, IA and received her education at country school. On July 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Floyd W. Van Kley at the Lebanon Christian Reformed Church. She and Floyd made their home in Sioux Center and to this union four children were born.
Marie and her husband Floyd owned Van Kley Feeder Cattle Company. Later in life she worked at Tri State Livestock and Rozeboom Trucking. She enjoyed gardening, handwork, fishing and playing games with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Carol and husband Gene Van Roekel of Hull, IA, Marilynn and husband Lyle Gritters, Bill and wife Sandy Van Kley and Leon and wife Kathy Van Kley, all of Sioux Center, IA; 18 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; 14 step great- grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Artie (Haverhals) Bonnema and her husband Elmer of Sioux Center, IA and Rose Van Kley of Granville, MI; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Haverhals; husband, Floyd Van Kley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and John Wiechers and Jo and John Vande Kieft; brother and sister-in-law, A.J. and Jennie Haverhals; brother, John Haverhals Jr.; and son-in-law Timothy Ribbens.
