Christopher Allen Vanden Berg

   Christopher Vanden Berg, age 24, of Sioux Center, IA, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 in Umbarger, TX, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. 

      Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA with Rev. Roger Voskuil, officiating.  Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Sioux Center, IA.

      Visitation will be Monday, February 20th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, IA.

     Christopher Allen Vanden Berg was born February 24, 1992, at Sioux Center, IA the son of Clifford and Deloris (Zomer) Vanden Berg.  Chris grew up in Sioux Center where he attended Christian School through the 8th grade and then attended Unity Christian and later Sioux Center High School.  Chris started his working career at Natural Foods in Sioux Center, Den Hartog Industries, D&K Trucking and for the last 2 years he drove truck for Folkens Bros. Trucking.  Trucking was his passion!  He took pride in keeping his truck immaculate.  He loved his work and always showed respect to the owners and their animals.  He was privileged to enjoy all of God’s creations when he traveled thru 48 states.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

     He is survived by his mother, Deloris (Lyle) Van Der Brink of Sioux Center, IA; sister, Dawn (William) Blake of Spencer, IA; grandparents, Alvin (Lois) Zomer of Sioux Center, IA; Alice Van Der Brink of Boyden, IA; several aunts and uncles, Mike (Kim) Zomer of Grand Rapids, MI; Mark (Karla) Zomer of Rock Valley, IA; Ryan (Jamie) Zomer of Rock Valley, IA; Brad (Mary) Vanden Berg of Corsica, SD; Jolene Vander Veer and fiancé Jim Sivlo of Hastings, NE; Henry (Brenda) Van Der Brink of  George, IA and Connie (Kent) Rusche of Sioux Center, IA; along with many cousins and friends.

     Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; grandparents, John and Judina Vanden Berg and Case Van Der Brink.

         In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be designated for the June Nylen Cancer Center or Hope Haven.
