James Richard White Sr.

     James R. White Sr., age 66, of Carmel, IA died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, near Sioux Center, IA as a result of an auto accident.

          Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, IA with Pastor Mike Pitsenberger officiating.

       Family will greet guests from 10:00 until the time of service Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

     James Richard White Sr. was born May 29, 1950 in Hawarden, IA to Elmer and Mary (Hill) White.  He was raised and received his education in Hawarden.  On June 8, 1979, he was united in marriage to Donna Hendrix in Elk Point, SD.  To this union five children were born.  James and his family lived in several places before settling in Carmel, IA.  They lived in Hawarden, Hudson, Canton, SD, where James worked for the city of Canton as well as Newton Hills Park and the latest was at Carmel where he worked at the Ethanol Plant and working with local farmers in various jobs.

     Jim liked to visit.  He loved to shoot the breeze and could strike up a conversation with anyone.  His easy-going demeanor was appreciated by those he came across.  He loved to laugh and joke and tease.  His grandkids will hold many fond memories of him.  He enjoyed fishing, especially when he was able to fish with family members.  Jim was a football fan.  More specifically he followed the Green Bay Packers.

     Jim is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Donna of Carmel, IA; son, James Jr. (Christy) White and their children, Tiffany, Brandon and Nicholas all of George, IA; son, Robert (Stacia) White and their children, Chantel, Jada, Jacob, Ethan, Elexis and Colton all of Sheldon, IA; daughter, Jeanna (John Lamfers) Bennett and children Teagon, Michael and Antonio all of Paulina, IA; daughter, Rebecca Horton and Railee of Carmel, IA; daughter, Barbara (Mathias) Thompson, and children, Jack, Cade and Cora all of Alcester, SD; daughter, Michelle Wilson; daughter, Kathy and son Mike of Aberdeen, SD; and Annie Miller of Ireton, IA; grandchildren, Devin White and Chloee White; great-grandson, Gavin Alan; brother, Timothy (Hanlore) White of St. Ingbert, Germany; sisters, Sherri Johnson of Minneapolis, MN and Kathy Nelson of El Paso, TX; nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mary White; daughter, Donna Jean; sisters Marge, Delores and Judy.
