Carol Lucille Evans

Carol  “Lucille” Evans,  97, of  Thermopolis, Wyoming, formerly of Sioux Center, Iowa,  died on June 25, 2016 at the New Horizon Care Center in Lovell, Wyoming.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016, at the Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Van Rathbun officiating.    Burial will precede the Service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Lucille was born January 9, 1919, in rural Strang, Nebraska to Byron and Ruth Bumgarner.  On June 14, 1940, she and William Arthur Evans were united in marriage.  To this union Roger Wayne Evans was born.

The family lived in Omaha, Nebraska, from 1950 until May of 1983 when they moved to Sioux Center to be near their son and family.  Their three grandchildren were the pride and joy of their grandparents.

After living for a number of years at Crown Pointe she moved to join her family in Thermopolis, Wyoming and later went to reside at the New Horizon Care Center in Lovell.

Lucille is survived  by her son Roger and daughter-in-law Maureen Evans of Thermopolis, Wyoming.       Grandchildren include Ryan (Melinda) Evans of Monticello, Iowa; Stacie (Clay) Bingham of Laramie, Wyoming; and Matt (Jaclyn) Evans of Parker, Colorado.  She was blessed with nine great-grandchildren; Reese and Riley Evans, Alex and Haley Jo McElmeel, Aedan, Declan and Lillian Bingham, and Logan and Cora Evans. 

She was preceded in death by her husband “Art” Evans, her parents, her brother, a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law.  Lucille was a loving and giving person, who loved her Lord and family and will be missed by all.
