Maria Van Tol, 18, daughter of Dwight and Kathleen Van Tol of Sioux Center, IA died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Unity Point St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 9, at 2:00PM, at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center, with Rev. Kory Plockmeyer officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service from 1-2PM at Covenant Christian Reformed Church.
The Van Tol family prefers memorials to Faith, Hope & Charity of Storm Lake or Tesoros de Dios of Nicaragua.
?Maria Kathleen VanTol was born June 5, 1997, in Romania and adopted into her forever family at age 4 through Bethany Christian Services. She lived in Holland, Michigan, until age 12 when she moved with her family to Sioux Center, Iowa. She was supported by Faith Hope and Charity for 2 years and Developmental Services of Iowa for the final year of her life.
She was baptized at Providence Christian Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan, and was a member of Covenant Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
Maria will be remembered for her great smile, her love of music and singing, and her tender heart for others.
She is survived by her parents, Dwight and Kathleen VanTol of Sioux Center; brother and sister-in-law, Colin and Victoria VanTol of Omaha, NE; brothers: Jacob, Luke and Jonathan VanTol all of Sioux Center, grandparents: William and Loretta Davis of Orland Park, IL and Cornelius and Trudi VanTol of Muskegon, MI, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
