Louise Hulstein, 90, of Sioux Center, IA, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Sioux Center Health.
A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
A prayer service for family and friends will be held on Friday at 10:00AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Jamie Dykstra officiating.

Louise Hulstein was born on May 19, 1925 to Art E. and Hermina (Rozeboom) Franken on a farm northeast of Sioux Center. She received her education through the 8th grade at Welcome Township #8.
On February 18, 1947 Louise married Gerrit Robert Hulstein at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. They made their home northeast of Sioux Center for over 50 years where Louise enjoyed being a homemaker and also sold Amway Products for many years. They later moved to a condominium in Sioux Center in 1997. She currently resided at Franken Manor where she taught many residents how to play Canasta every night.
Louise was a member of the First Reformed Church where she participated in the Ladies Society. She enjoyed Sioux Center Saddle Club outings, bowling team, card playing, crocheting in her spare time and also was a Foster Grandparent for Hope Haven. Later in life the couple enjoyed motorcycle trips. After moving to town she continued with the biking excursions, however, this was with her three-wheeled bike, creating many memorable moments.
She is survived by her five children: Sandra and Ron Schnabel of Inver Grove Heights, MN; Bob and Linda Hulstein of Orange City; Kevin and Deb Hulstein of Maurice; Keith and Donna Hulstein of Hull; and Mike and Pam Hulstein of Sioux Center; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Bensema; sister-in-law, Lorene Franken; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Arthea and Ken Raak and Harriet and Gerald Kroese; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Sylvia Hulstein and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerrit Robert; her parents; brothers: Everett L. and John A. Franken; sister, Alice Van Roekel; sisters-in-law, Gert Franken and Darlene Franken; brothers-in-law: Henry Van Roekel, Rev. Joel Bensema and Art Hulstein; nephews: Arlin D. Franken and Jim Franken; grandson, Rick Hulstein; infant brother and sister: Everet F. and Johanna Franken.
