Margaret Wilmina Rensink passed away on December 15, 2015, in the Orange City Area Health System. She was born to R.J. and Minnie (Kosters) Vander Schaaf on September 5, 1921, in Le Mars, IA. She grew up loving the outdoor life of the family farm, located one mile west of Sioux Center, IA. After attending country school and graduating from Sioux Center High School, she completed normal training, which qualified her to teach country school. On April 14, 1944, she and Anthony (Tony) Rensink were married in the living room of her parents’ home. After living with his parents for a short time, they settled on a farm 1½ miles east of Sioux Center. There they farmed together for 29 years. After Tony’s death in 1974, she continued to live on the “home place,” farming with her son Mark. She moved to town after Mark married, desiring that the new couple enjoy the farm life that had always meant so much to her. She retained the heart of a farmer the rest of her life. She enjoyed living in her own home until physical limitations made it necessary to move to Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, IA, where she lived for her remaining 3 years.

An active member of the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center throughout her life, she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Ruth circle, and a Care Quilter. She taught her children to know Jesus as Savior. She also taught and lived the values of hard work and determination, tempered by kindness and a fun-loving heart. Her other interests included sewing, baking, vegetable gardening, canning, and reading.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Helen and Peter Golden of Hull, IA; Carol and Garold (Gary) Moyer of Cedar Falls, IA; Mark and Debra (Deb Mouw) Rensink of Sioux Center, IA; and Audrey and R. David Hiatt of Polk City, IA; her 9 grandchildren: Kristen and Craig Bettmann, David Golden, Steven Golden, Rebekah and Travis Ireland, Jennifer and Eric Talmage, Daniel Moyer, Laura and Mike Vander Stelt, Joshua and Kayla Rensink, and Micah and Heather Rensink; and her 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tony, her son, Roger, her grandson, Brent Rensink, and her siblings and their spouses: John and Harriet Vander Schaaf, John and Geraldine Wolfswinkel, Bert and Angeline Vermeer, Hein and Everna Vander Schaaf, Willie Vander Schaaf, and Bernard (Bud) and Wilmina Vermeer.

She was taken to her heavenly home after being with us for 94 years. We are so thankful for her time on this earth. She blessed and was loved by many.
