Priscilla Salmon

June 6, 1926 — July 30, 2015

Priscilla Salmon, 89, of Sheldon, Iowa, formerly of Boyden, Iowa, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, August 4th at Sheridan Township Cemetery of Boyden. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the First Reformed Church of Boyden, IA. A funeral service to honor the lives of Glenn Salmon, and Priscilla Salmon who died on July 30, 2015, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30AM at the First Reformed Church of Boyden with Rev. Dr. Verlyn Boone officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Sheridan Township Cemetery of Boyden. Priscilla Mae Salmon was born June 6, 1926, to Henry and Eva (Mouw) Post. She received her education at the Orange City Community Schools and completed two years of college at Northwestern in Orange City. On August 24, 1951, Priscilla was married to Glenn Harold Salmon. They lived in Boyden, Iowa, and were parents of one son, Duane. They became members of the Boyden First Reformed Church. Priscilla was employed at several primary schools in the area. Priscilla was known for her kindness and the caring words she expressed in the many cards she sent to family and friends. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She served as church secretary, Sunday School teacher, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Glenn H. Salmon of Sheldon; daughter-in-law, Melissa "Missi" Salmon of Grinnell, IA; five grandchildren: John (Victoria) Salmon, Ronald Salmon, Eva Joy Salmon, Sarah Salmon, Paul Salmon and two great-grandchildren: Gabriel and Rowen Salmon. Priscilla is also survived by one brother, Maurice Post of Lake Worth, FL. Priscilla is preceded in death by her son, Dr. Duane Salmon; father and mother, Henry and Eva Post; sister and brother-in-law, Gertrude and Cornelius Haspels; and brother and sister-in-law, John and Margaret Post.
