Mrs. Soan Cam, 62, of Sioux Center, IA, died Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Sioux Center Health. A visitation with the family present will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM with the family present from 5-7PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00PM at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. John Lee officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. The Cam family prefers memorials to Sioux Center Home Health and Hospice Soan Cam was born on April 27, 1952 to Quy and Pan Cam in North Vietnam. Raised in Laos and received her education through the 12th grade at Vientiane, Laos. She married William Cam on December 25, 1969. In 1976 with the support of Bethel Christian Reformed Church relocated to Sioux Center, Iowa from Laos. She remained a member of the Bethel Congregation until the time of her death. Soan will be remembered for her faith and love of Jesus Christ, her endearing personality, and love for her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, sewing and gardening. When you think of Soan, you may think of her egg rolls, sticky rice and home grown Asian pears. She was a loyal employee at K-Products, now known as Staples, for over 30 years and enjoyed the many friendships that developed over those years. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 45 years, William "Bill" Cam of Sioux Center and three children: Sayfone "Sofie" and Michael Schwebach, Ounheaun Cam, Touly and Sarah Cam of Sioux Center; her mother, Pan Cam of France; five sisters and a brother: Ly and Seuang Lo Van, Bouavane and Sypraseuth Chanthadouangsy, Savane and Jean Louis Grenier, Dokkeo Cam, Roger and Prudence Cam and Laurent Dehay all of France. Also loved by her four grandchildren: Miranda Schwebach and fiancé, Brian Jarman of Canton, SD; Alyssa, Willeam and Thai Cam all of Sioux Center as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Soan is preceded in death by her father, Quy Cam; her in-laws, Sinh and Ouane Cam; step mother-in-law, Peng Cam; two sister-in-laws: Boualien Nachiengane and Somai Meyer.
