Evadean Broek, 95, of Sioux Center, IA, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center. A visitation with the family present will be held on Thursday January 1, 2015 from 4-6PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral will be held on Friday, January 2 at 11AM at Bethel Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. The Broek family prefers memorials be directed to The Bible League. Evadean Broek passed into the arms of Jesus on December 23, 2014. She was born on August 17, 1919 in Orange City, Iowa to Emery and Margaret Pals. She was married to Marion Broek on February 16, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1989. Evadean was a lifetime member at Bethel Christian Reformed Church where she served as the church organist for 25 years. She was also a member of the Sunshine Circle. She had a great love for music and for her life on the farm where she and her husband raised their sons just north of Sioux Center, IA. She spent her later years at Crown Point and Royal Meadows where the staff lovingly cared for her. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Alfred (Jeanette) Pals, Cornie Pals, Floyd (Minnie) Pals and Paul Pals, along with her brothers-in-law: Bernard Niezink, David Broek, Albert (Harriet) Broek, John W. (Noreen) Broek, John B.(Harriet) Van Voorst and Arnold Feekes. She is survived by her children: Wayne and Marla (Dykstra) of Jenison, MI, and Marlin and Shirley (Elgersma) of Chandler, AZ; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marge Niezink of Hudsonville, MI; sisters-in-law, Grace Pals of Hudsonville, MI, MaryLou Pals of Eastmanville, MI, and Coby Pals of Byron Center, MI; sisters-in law: Margaret Feekes and June Broek both of Sioux Center; her brother-in-law, Don (Anna Mae) Broek of Sioux Center as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
