Rachael Feikema, 38, of Sioux Center, IA, died Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Sioux Center Health of Sioux Center. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the First Christian Reformed of Sioux Center. A prayer service for family and friends will be held on Wednesday at 9:00AM at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM at the First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Mark Verbruggen officiating. The Feikema family prefers memorials to Building Fund c/o Sioux Center Christian School Foundation. Rachael Marie (Visser) Feikema was born on January 13, 1976 to Marlyn and Esther (Dorhout) Visser. She was raised north of Orange City where she attended Orange City Christian School (class of 1990) and Unity Christian High School (class of 1994). She attended Dordt College, and then transferred to St. Luke's College of Nursing where she received her RN degree. She worked at the Orange City Area Health System and Pleasant Acres Care Center in Hull, Iowa. On June 13, 1998, Rachael married Corlin Feikema at the First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa. They were blessed with four children: Erica Rochelle, Cody Matthew, Marissa Marie and Grant William. Rachael so enjoyed being their mom. Rachael attended MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). She was so blessed by her "playdate" group (Amy, Kelli, Jess, Jenni and Jen); she was also blessed by her "prayer time" group as they poured out their hearts to God. Rachael is survived by her husband Corlin; children - Erica (12), Cody (10), Marissa (6) and Grant (2) of Sioux Center; her parents, Marlyn and Esther Visser of Orange City; her siblings, Mick and Sherry Visser (Hayley, Brandon and Rylee) of Sioux Center, Shari Visser of Orange City, Rebecca Visser of Orange City, Valerie and Ryan Van Beek (Payton, Autumn and Dylan) of Orange City; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Case and Rose Feikema of Luverne, MN; and brothers-in-law, Theron Feikema and Derick Feikema, all of Luverne, MN. Rachael was preceded in death by her brother, Rick; sister, Lisa; her grandparents, George and Tillie Dorhout and William and Theresa Visser; and two uncles, Stan Yates and William Vande Kopple. Rachael courageously fought breast cancer since she was diagnosed on March 5, 2013. Throughout this journey, her testimony of hope and faith in God was evident to many.
