Jane Kasper Margaret Jane (De Bruin) Kasper, age 68, passed away at her Wheatfield, Indiana residence, the evening of September 5, 2014. Margaret was born on November 16, 1945 in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Willard Henry and Margaret Christine (Van Rennes) De Bruin. She was the youngest of 4 children in that family. Margaret also known as Jane, grew up in Sioux Center and attended public schools there, graduating from Sioux Center High School. While in school, she was a cheerleader, on the tumbling team and in the band. She was also very active at Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center, where she was a member for many years. Margaret graduated from Central College, Pella, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education. While at Central College, she was a member of the Acapella choir. After college, she taught music for one year at the elementary school in Donnellson, Iowa. On June 15, 1969 in Pella, Iowa, Margaret married the love of her life, David Kasper. Together they had two children, Aaron David and Karen Christine. Margaret enjoyed being a mother and housewife. She loved flowers, music, studying the Bible and religion, studying health and nutrition, preparing meals for her family and going on walks. She enjoyed nature and liked to see birds and other wildlife. She enjoyed traveling and visiting parks. She was a very accomplished pianist. Her greatest love and joy was her family. She was a member of First Reformed Church of DeMotte, Indiana. Prior to moving to Indiana, the family resided in Sioux Center, Iowa. Margaret leaves behind, her loving husband of 45 years and two children, Aaron of Richmond, IN and Karen of Wheatfield, IN; a sister, Eleanor Bowen of Marion, Iowa; 2 brothers, Willard Henry (Janet) De Bruin, Jr. of Germantown, WI and Harold James De Bruin of Sioux Center, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Ivan Bowen; father-in-law, Oskar M. Kasper; mother-in-law, Ellenor B. Kasper; and brother-in-law, Martin A. Kasper. Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, IN. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the Jackson Funeral Service of DeMotte, with Pastor Daniel Jelsma officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Haven, Wheatfield, IN or the Reformed Church of America.
