Henrietta Van Der Weide, 83, of Orange City, IA died Sunday, August 10, 2014, at her Orange City residence. A visitation with the family present will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:00-10:30AM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30AM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the funeral service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. Henrietta Van Der Weide was born Auigust 5, 1931 near Doon, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Dena (Brinkman) Van Veldhuizen. She was united in marriage to Marvin Van Der Weide at Sioux Center, Iowa, on November 7, 1952. Following their marriage, the couple settled in Orange City, Iowa. Marvin preceded her in death on July 26, 1996. Henrietta was a member of the Netherlands Reformed Congregation of Sioux Center. During her life she raised her two children and cared for the family's home. She enjoyed reading, gardening and outings with her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Van Der Weide of Orange City; a daughter-in-law, Annette Van Der Weide of Hanford, California and grandson: Jesse Van Der Weide of Hanford, California. Henrietta is also survived by four sisters: Greta Van Middendorp of Sheldon, Verna (Henry) Wallenburg of Ripon, California, Della (Marlo) Muth of Akron, Pearl Nielsen of Hull; three brothers: John (Garlene) Van Veldhuizen of Doon, Bernie (Sharon) Van Veldhuizen of Rock Valley, Lester (Harriet) Van Veldhuizen of Doon along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Henrietta was preceded in death by her her son, Bryan Dale Van Der Weide; an infant daughter, Wanda Mae Van Der Weide; her parents; an infant brother and infant twin sisters and two brothers-in-law: Cornie Van Middendorp and Arnold Sohl.
