Faith Eileen Franken was born on December 16, 1952 to Walter and Henrietta Post in Sioux Center. She grew up on a farm west of Sioux Center and attended Carmel Reformed Church. She went to school in Sioux Center and graduated in 1971. After graduation, Faith attended school for nursing in Sioux Falls, SD and worked as a nurse for 10 years in Sioux Falls and Sioux Center. She married Dick Franken, Jr. on October 10, 1980. For 25 years they lived on a farm south of Sioux Center where they raised their four daughters. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Faith enjoyed gardening, baking her famous Angel Food cakes, sewing, and caring for her girls despite being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989. In 2003, Dick sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident, which led to Faith having to make some difficult decisions. Faith stayed on the farm until 2005 when she moved to town. Here she could easily visit Dick who lived at Royale Meadows Care Center until his death in 2010. Faith moved to Royale Meadows herself in 2011 when her cancer and MS made it too difficult to live alone at home. Faith lived a life of courage and perseverance. She was a great role model to her girls and an inspiration to many friends and family. Through all of life's trials she stood firm in her faith and knew that God Will Provide. Faith is survived by four daughters: Hope Franken of Sioux City, Becky and Brian Groeneweg of Sioux Center, Sarah and John Zwier of Saint Paul, MN and Dana Franken and fiancé Paul A. Visser of Ireton; three grandchildren, Noam and Maelyn Groeneweg, and Kyla Visser; sister, Deanne and Richard Van Zee of Rock Valley; brothers: Darwin and Lorraine Post, and Warren and Fonda Post, all of Sioux Center; in-laws: Art and Marlene Franken, and Gerald and Joanne Franken, all of Sioux Center, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; her parents, Walter and Henrietta Post; parents-in-law, Dick and Bertha Franken; granddaughters, Lailah and Karah Groeneweg; niece, Angela Post; and nephew, Kevin Post.
