Linda Klein

Linda Klein, 66, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, February 21, 2014, at her Sioux Center Residence. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. John Lee officiating. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. The Klein family prefer memorials be directed to Northwestern College of Orange City, Iowa. Linda (Droog) Klein was born on August 30, 1947 to Dal and Betty (Haak) Droog. She was raised on a farm near Hull, North Dakota. Linda was one of five children in the Droog family as she was blessed to have two brothers and two sisters. Linda married Lyle Klein on March 11, 1966. The couple lived in Herreid, South Dakota until July of 1968, when they moved to Sioux Center, Iowa. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Lori and Lisa. Lori is married to Tim Bonnema and they have three children. Lisa is married to Brian Damstra and they have one son. Linda enjoyed walking, biking, reading, playing scrabble and having coffee with her friends. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with family and her close friends. Over the years, Linda had several jobs; her latest was as an instructor for Hope Haven at a Sioux Center waiver home. Helping others through this job was rewarding and provided many opportunities for her to bless others. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lyle Klein of Sioux Center; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lori and Tim Bonnema; and their three children: Kyle, Kory and Kortnie all of Ireton; Lisa and Brian Damstra and their son, Logan of Brandon, SD; four siblings: Roger and Lila Droog of Alton, Gwen and Del Groen of Center, CO, Becky and Rich De Groot and Randy and Val Droog all of Orange City and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dal and Betty Droog.
