Kirk Pruismann

April 26, 1952 — December 28, 2013

Kirk Pruismann, 61, of Sioux Center, IA died unexpectedly Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1:30PM at the Terrace View Events Center of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. In lieu of flowers or gift items, the Pruismann Family prefers memorials to Atlas of Sioux Center. Kirk Dean Pruismann was born on April 26, 1952 in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Jean (Doornink) Pruismann. Kirk lived most of his life in northwest Iowa. He was drafted in 1971, and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, he hauled livestock for many years. For the past ten years he operated heavy equipment for Phil Hooyer. Kirk was a dedicated employee and loved to fish in his spare time. Kirk is survived by a daughter, Debbie Pruismann of Central City, IA and her daughters: Desirae and Danielle; a son, Dustin (McKenzie) Pruismann of Central City, IA and his sons: Clayton and Marcus; his father, Marvin Pruismann of Sioux Center; two brothers: Kent (Sylvia) Pruismann of Rock Valley, IA, and Kevin Pruismann of Sioux Center; two sisters: Karen (Dan) Mulder of Orange City and Kay (Jim) Kosters of Sioux Center and several nieces and nephews. Kirk was preceded in death by his mother, a grandson, a step-daughter and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
