Lynn Vande Berg, 65, of Hudson, SD died unexpectedly at his Hudson residence. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11AM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, with Rev. Nathan Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center, Iowa. Lynn Gregory Vande Berg of Hudson, South Dakota was born November 11, 1947 at Hawarden, Iowa. He was the son of James Bernard Vande Berg and Eileen Busch. He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his Hudson residence. He spent most of his boyhood and adult life in the Parma/Caldwell, Idaho area. He attended college at Boise State University. He developed a good friendship with Gary Johnson of Parma, Idaho that lasted through the years. They spent time duck hunting together in high school and were roommates in college. He and Gary had a lot of good times together. Lynn enjoyed outdoor sports and was especially fond of his dog Lady'. Lynn spent most of his adult life in the cattle business with his father. They lived in various places including the Caldwell and Parma, Idaho areas, Sioux City, Iowa and several Colorado locations. In 1999 he and his father, Jim moved to Hudson, South Dakota. As his father's health declined in the later years Lynn was a most faithful caregiver, attending to his father's every need. His father died in February 2012. Lynn is survived by his four children: James Vande Berg and wife, Annette of Tacoma, WA along with their daughter, Samantha; Terry Vande Berg of Tacoma, Washington; Mark Vande Berg of Caldwell, Idaho and his two children: Brent and Alexus; Lisa Cisneros and husband, Michael of Greeley, Colorado and their two daughters: Liliana and Juliana. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Don and Wilma Vande Berg of Sioux Center along with their sons: David Vande Berg and family and Dean Vande Berg; two uncles: Robert Busch of Tucson, Arizona and Charles Busch of Black Canyon, Arizona and one aunt, Neva Busch of Rock Valley. Preceding him in death was a brother as a young child, his parents and several uncles and aunts.
