Wilmina Wynia, 84, of Sioux Center, IA died Friday, April 5, 2013, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM with the family present from 5-7PM at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. A prayer service for family and friends will be held on Tuesday at 10:15AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11AM at First Reformed Church with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. The Wynia family prefer memorials be directed to First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Wilmina Wynia was born June 2, 1928 to Herman and Grace (Schuiteman) Ennema on the family farm south of Sioux Center. Wilmina attended country school through eighth grade and then worked on the family farm. On April 30, 1947 Wilmina married Martin Wynia of rural Maurice. She and Martin farmed on the Wynia homestead for 50 years until they moved to Sioux Center in 1997. In October of 2005 Martin went home to be with the Lord, at which time Wilmina became a resident of Royale Meadows in Sioux Center. Wilmina cherished her faith, her family and life on the farm. She loved gardening, crocheting, bird watching, the farm dogs and traveling. Many of these loves she passed on to her children. She was a faithful helper to Martin on the farm. Wilmina leaves to cherish her memory four children: Gracia and her husband, Jim Vander Velde of Rock Valley, Marvin and his wife, Esther of Maurice, Wilmer and his wife, Diane of Ireton and Elaine and her husband, Paul A. De Jong of Orange City; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Wilmina is also survived by 2 sisters: Bertha Vermeer of Windom, MN, Anna Mae Broek and her husband Don; one brother, Herm Brenneman and his wife, Adeline of Sioux Center; sisters-in-law: Joan Brenneman, Tena Wynia, Frances Wynia all of Sioux Center, sisters-in-law: Arlene Wynia of Luverne, MN and Jean Wynia of Sheldon. Wilmina was preceded in death by her loving husband, Martin; her parents; two brothers: Andrew Brenneman and wife Joan, Art Brenneman; sister, Tracy Hoogland and husband, John; brother-in-law, Harvey Vermeer; brothers-in-law: Louis Wynia and his wife, Anna, Cornie Wynia and his wife, Jeanette and Melvin Wynia.
