Junaida Dibbet, 89, of Sioux Center, IA died Tuesday, December 04, 2012, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital of Sioux Center. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8PM with the family present from 6-8PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A prayer service for family and friends will be held on Friday at 10AM at the Carmel Reformed Church of Rural Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service at the Carmel Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11AM at the Carmel Reformed Church with Rev. Mark Heijerman officiating. In lieu of flowers the Dibbet family prefers memorials to Brian and Donna Renes, serving as Bible translators with United Bible Societies. Junaida Dibbet was born on April 21, 1923 to John B. Mouw and Grace (Van Roekel) in the Sioux Center, Iowa area. She was raised on a farm near Sioux Center and attended country school through eighth grade. On December 17, 1943, Junaida was joined in marriage to Richard Dibbet in Carmel, Iowa. Together they enjoyed farming on various farms around Sioux Center until they retired and moved into Sioux Center. Junaida was a lifelong member of Carmel Reformed Church and was active in various women's organizations in the church, as well as, teaching Sunday School. She enjoyed volunteering for the Sioux Center School Reading Program. Junaida stayed active by participating in water aerobics. She loved cooking for her family and grandchildren. Junaida's love for music was evident in the way she shared her natural talent, entertaining several times a month in various nursing homes. She could play any song requested by the residents without looking at music. Left to cherish her memory are her children: James and Gloria Dibbet of Prudenville, MI, Sharon and Rick Brommer of Rapid City, SD, Marlin Dibbet of Sioux Center, David and Deb Dibbet of Sioux Center; son-in-law, Glen Van Zee of Townsend, MT; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are in-laws: Marie Mouw, Mina Mouw, Jack and Priscilla Dibbet, Henrietta "Girlie" Dibbet all of Sioux Center, Gertrude and John Draayer, Joan Maassen, Alvin and Arlene Hoogendoorn all of Rock Valley and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard; her daughter, Shirley Van Zee, brothers: Bernard Mouw, Melvin Mouw; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Kathryn Mouw; one sister and brother-in-law, Matilda and Gerrit Sandbulte; brothers-in-law: Raymond Maassen, John Dibbet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Alice Van Voorst.
