Alla Kraayenbrink, 92, of Sioux Center, IA died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital of Sioux Center. A visitation will be held Friday from 1PM to 2PM at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held Friday at 2PM at First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. Alla Kraayenbrink was born December 17, 1919 to Lendert Arie and Johanna (Lammers) Klein on a farm west of Sioux Center, Iowa. She attended country school through the eighth grade. As child and young woman, Alla assisted her parents with their farming operation by doing chores, milking and shocking corn. She also helped neighboring families with child care and cleaning when a newborn arrived in the household. Later for many years Alla was employed at Coop Produce in Sioux Center where she was an egg candler and grader. For some time she was employed at SiouxPreme Egg in Sioux Center where she cleaned early each morning before the days shift began. Alla was a lifelong member of the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. She married Gerrit J. Kraayenbrink on July 26, 1955 in Sioux Center. Gerrit preceded her in death on February 2, 2008. Alla thoroughly loved working outdoors in her garden and tending to the flowers she grew in her yard. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Grace Klein of Sioux Center. She is also survived by nieces and nephews: Shirley Klein of Sioux Center, Wayne (Pam) Klein of Sioux Center, Bob (Judy) Klein of Cedar Rapids, IA, (Nancy) Klein (wife of Leroy) of Des Moines, IA, Aldine (Bill) Van Regenmorter, Wilma (Bill) Brantsen, Bertha (Pete) Mol, Arta Zevenbergen and Goldene (Sherm) Wissink all of Sioux Center; along with numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Alla was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Della Klein and Mina Klein and nephew, Leroy Klein.
