A visitation will be held Saturday from 1:30PM to 3:30PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A family committal service will be held Saturday at 4PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. In lieu of flowers the Mol family prefers memorials directed to Pup Haven pet adoption services of Sioux Center or the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Jo Mol was born in Sioux Center on December 6, 1923, the youngest of six children born to Aartje (Vierhout) and Johannes Mol. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Tillie Pluim, and Henrietta De Ryke-Kutchenwriter, Jeannette Van Holland; two brothers Clarence and Lawrence, and niece Alice Pluim Heidebrink. She is survived by three nephews: Art Pluim of Orange City, J. J. and Toni De Ryke of Iowa City, Iowa, Orville and Audrey Pluim of Rock Valley; and a niece, Jean Pluim Stenstrom of Alcester, South Dakota; as well as a number of great and great great-nephews and nieces. Jo graduated from Sioux Center High in 1941 where she was employed for a time in the Superintendent's office. She later performed bookkeeping services for the fledgling Memorial Funeral Home. For several years she worked at Kwikkel Dry Cleaners and subsequently owned and operated that business, changing the name to Jo's Cleaners. Jo will probably be best remembered for her many years of service to the community in her seamstress career, where she performed hundreds of alterations and repairs for area customers. In her younger years she enjoyed travel throughout the Midwest and playing golf. Her "naturalized" yard, which she affectionately called her Jungle, brought her much satisfaction as did her series of cats, most of which were strays she befriended. Most importantly she was a devoted and caring daughter and sister, and a GREAT Aunt.
