Wilemina Schuiteman, 81, of Sioux Center, IA died Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at the Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center. A visitation will be held on Friday at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-7PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30AM at the First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Tanner Smith officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Schuiteman family prefers memorials be directed to the Sioux Center Community Hospital Foundation or First Reformed Church Haiti Orphanage Fund. Wilemina Alice Kaemingk was born November 8, 1930, in rural Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Alice (Schutt) Kaemingk. She was raised on a farm near Sioux Center. She attended country school and graduated from Sioux Center Community School. She worked for Mutual Telephone Company as an operator, as a receptionist for Dr. A.L. McGilvra in Sioux Center and later in life at Harkers in Sioux Center. But her most important and rewarding job was raising her children. Wilemina married Arvin J. Schuiteman on June 29, 1955, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed east of Sioux Center with their five children. Arvin passed away suddenly on September 13, 1975 leaving Wilemina to raise her children and manage the family farm for the next 20 years. She was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center where she was also a member of the Lydia Circle. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, bowling, baking and cooking for her family, fixing puzzles, listening to and watching sports, and helping others in any way she could. Survivors include her five children, Joel (Karen) Schuiteman of Sioux Center, Anita (Dave) Donaldson of Spencer, IA, Terry (Renae) Schuiteman of Sioux Center, Alan (Rhonda) Schuiteman of Orange City, IA and Paul Schuiteman of Sioux Center: 12 grandchildren: Lindsay, Kari, Nicole, Austin, Conner, Bennet, Maria, Rachel, Julie, Emily, Amy and Erica; two brothers, Harold and Tunis Kaemingk of Sioux Center; two sisters-in-law, Helen Kaemingk and Ravina De Zeeuw of Sioux Center; a brother-in-law, Bill Kooi of Orange City, IA. She is also survived by members of the Schuiteman family: a brother-in-law, Robert (Helene) Schuiteman of Sheldon, IA; three brothers-in-law: John B. Broek of Sioux Center, Bernie Van't Hul of Sheldon, IA, Norman De Jongh of Luverne, MN; and a sister-in-law, Frances Schuiteman of Sioux Center. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers: Arnold and Theodore Kaemingk; one sister, Margaret (Mike) Kooi; a brother-in-law, Arthur J. Schuiteman; and three sisters-in-law: Delma (Schuiteman) Broek, Wilmina (Schuiteman) Van't Hul, and Norma (Schuiteman) De Jongh.
