Adelaide Young

Adelaide Young, 91, of Sioux Center, Iowa formerly of Little Falls, New York, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10AM at the Church of the Savior of Orange City with Rev. Karen Wacome officiating. Arrangements are being completed with Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Adelaide Ruby Young was born December 25, 1920 to Frank and Elizabeth Heinecke in Burlington, Iowa. On July 26, 1942, Adelaide married Charles Young. Adelaide influenced generations of children teaching elementary school in Little Falls, New York where she and her husband, "Chub", lived for over 50 years. She will be remembered for her loving care for her Labrador retrievers, especially Jezzabelle and Nikki as well as her dedication to her hand work projects. She will be lovingly remembered by her four daughters; Sandra and her husband Ragnar Skarsaune of Sioux Center; Joan and her husband Kenneth Clark of Remsen, NY, Pat Stark of Warwick, RI and Carol and Don Lemche of Cedar, MN; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Adelaide is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years; her parents; a daughter, Cheryl; and three sisters: Elizabeth, Margarite and Gloria.
