Jane Byerly, 77, formerly of Voorhees, New Jersey, Died July 2, 2012 at the Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 7:00 PM at Carmel Reformed Church with Pastor Mark Heijerman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 6 to 7 PM at the Carmel Reformed Church. Interment will be held at a later date in New Jersey. Jane Byerly was born on August 24, 1934, to David and Alice Shelley in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Raised in the city of her birth, she graduated from Westminster College in Pennsylvania with a degree in teaching. On June 16, 1956, she married Leroy James Byerly and together they made their home in Haddonfield, New Jersey for many years prior to living in Voorhees. After the death of her husband, Jane lived with her daughter and then lived in both Crown Pointe and Royal Meadows. She was a member of Grace Church of Haddonfield, an Episcopal congregation, but recently attended the Carmel Reformed Church. Jane had many interests. An accomplished water color painter, her appreciation of things of beauty was reflected in her decorating gifts, knitting skills, gardening, collections, and interest in fashion. Jane also enjoyed antiques and traveling. She is survived by her three children, Shelley Lynn (Mark) Heijerman of Rock Valley, IA, William Henry (Cathy) Byerly II of Annapolis, Maryland, and J. David (Jessica) Byerly of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by six grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Shirley (Don) Talhelm of Hellertown, Pennsylvania.
