Lori Rens, 73, of Sioux Center, IA died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center. A visitation will be held Monday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 6-8PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A prayer service for family and friends will be held Tuesday at 10AM at New Life Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11AM at New Life Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Dan Kruse officiating. The Rens family prefers memorials to the Sioux Center Community Hospital Foundation. Delores Elaine Rens was born on May 15, 1939 to Arend and Cora (Jansen) Broek in Sioux Center, Iowa. She attended Sioux Center Christian School and graduated from Western Christian in Hull, Iowa. Lori was united in marriage to Richard Rens, Jr. on December 3, 1957. They made their home in Sioux Center where they owned and operated Rens Construction together. Lori was a member at New Life Reformed Church of Sioux Center. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Blessed to have shared her life are her husband of 54 years, Richard Rens of Sioux Center; the couple's four children: Jeff and LeAnn Rens of Springfield, MO and their daughters: Ginny and Don Scott (Emerson and Hana) all of Ely, IA, Kendra and Drew Rodiger of Springfield, MO, Erica Rens of Springfield, MO; Lynn and Dennis Koele of Hull and their children: Dustin and Rikka Koele (Cadence) all of Alton, Ashley and Mitch (Tessa) Van Engen all of Doon, Jordan Koele of Hull; Jan Tubergen and her daughters: Jessica Tubergen (Tori) both of Sioux Center, Morgan and Tim Lange (Carlee and Chase) all of Doon, Danielle Tubergen of Sioux Center; Scott and Karen Rens of Sioux Center and their children: Emily, Alex and Sam Rens of Sioux Center. Lori is also survived by her mother, Cora Broek of Sioux Center; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Jo and Paul Dekker of Maurice, Arlene and Stan Van Otterloo of Hospers, Linda and Will Van Engen of Hudson, SD, Marianne and Jim Sjaarda of Sioux Center; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Will and Joan Rens of Sioux Center; brother-in-law, Gerrit Vander Plaats of Sheldon and numerous nieces and nephews. Those she joins in heaven are her sons: Roger and Ronald; her father, Arend Broek; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Richard and Helen Rens and sister-in-law, Hattie Vander Plaats.
