Mark Marra, 56, of Hull, Iowa died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the American Reformed Church of Hull from 4-8PM, with the family present from 5-8PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30AM at the American Reformed Church of Hull with Rev. Steven Bierly officiating. Interment will follow the service in Hope Cemetery in Hull. In lieu of flowers or gifts the Marra family prefers memorials to the American Reformed Church Building Fund. Mark Allan Marra was born October 17, 1955 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Wayne and Adrianna (Kleene) Marra. He graduated from Boyden-Hull High School with the class of 1974. He was part owner of B&M Construction for 20 years and worked for Service Trucks International since 2004. On July 19, 1980, Mark married the love of his life, Julie Penning, in Rock Rapids, Iowa. The couple made their home in Hull, Iowa. He was the proud father of three daughters: Nicole, Amanda and Kelsy; and was the proud "Papa" to Kolter, Ruby, Cohen and Madden. Mark enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandkids. He liked golfing, collecting construction toys, traveling, spending Friday "date night" grocery shopping with his wife and making breakfast every Saturday morning. Mark served as a deacon and youth group sponsor at the American Reformed Church of Hull. He also served on the Hull Investors and Hope Cemetery Boards for many years. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Julie of Hull; three daughters and sons-in-law: Nicole (Chris) Blum of Omaha, NE, Amanda (Ryan) Hulstein of Sioux Center, Kelsy (Jon) Van Egdom of Rock Valley; four grandchildren: Ruby and Cohen Hulstein and Kolter and Madden Van Egdom; his parents, Wayne and Mick Marra of Orange City; brother and sister-in-law. Bruce (Tricia) Marra of Hull; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawn (Loren) Wynia of Orange City, Rhonda (Brian) Robyn of Orange City; in-laws, Clifton and Luella Penning and Rod and Audrey Kracht all of Rock Rapids and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Jacoba Kleene and Wilmar and Evelyn Marra.
