Khay Phomphackdy Baccam was born in Khangkhay, Laos on March 1, 1955, to Leune Lorvan & Heuang Baccam, and was later on adopted by Eune Baccam. Khay married Khamfeuang Keovilay on November 30, 1979. Along with their daughter, they made their journey from Laos to the United States. They arrived in Sioux Center, Iowa, on September 16, 1982, where they also raised four sons. Khay began making a living at Soo Valley Vending as a commercial artist. He then went on to do what he loved most, sharing his love for His Lord. He gave his life to Christ and focused on preaching the gospel to the Lao/Tai Dam community throughout the Midwest. He became an ordained evangelist at Faith Christian Reformed Church in 1994. One of his greatest achievements was the work he did with the Lao Unity CRC in Sioux City, Iowa. Khay had many hobbies. When he wasn't involved with the church, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking. He also loved anything to do with electronics, such as flying remote control helicopters and capturing pictures and videos; but his main priority was spending time with his family and friends. He had a warm and loving smile that could light up an entire room. Khay is survived by his wife Feuang (51) of Sioux Center, IA; his daughter, Soudalay (31) of Gilbert, AZ; his four sons: Anousack (26) of Sioux Center, IA, Anousone (25) of Lincoln, NE, Anousith David (23) of Sioux Center, IA, Anousinh Richard (20) of Sioux Center, IA; his sister, Khouang of Vientiane, Laos; and brothers Phone and Souk both of Sioux Center, IA.
