Wilmina "Mina" Rodenburgh, 90, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Sanford Sheldon Senior Care in Sheldon. A visitation will be held Tuesday at the First Christian Reformed church Fireside Room from 4-8pm, with the family present from 6-8PM. A prayer service for family and friends will be held Wednesday at 2PM at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3PM at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Carl Klompien officiating. The Rodenburgh family prefer memorials be directed to the Sioux Center Christian School. Wilmina "Mina" Cornelia Rodenburgh was born August 16, 1921 in NieuwVennep, The Netherlands to John and Adrienna Baartse. Mina attended a Bible School in NieuwVennep. She was married to Lane Rodenburgh on October 10, 1945 in Haarlemeer, The Netherlands. The young couple had their first two children in Holland. In 1949, while expecting their third child, they immigrated to the United States. They lived in their Sioux Center, Iowa home until 2005, when Lane passed away. Mina then resided in Sioux Center's Royal Meadows Care Center and later at Sanford Senior Care in Sheldon, Iowa. Mina spent many years serving her family at home as a mother and wife. Mina, alongside Lane, worked as custodian at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Mina considered it her privilege to serve the people of the church, and did so for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Mina was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. She was involved in the Golden Hour Society, with whom she spent many Saturday mornings making "pig in the blankets". She enjoyed gardening, having a special love for flowers. She was a wonderful cook, and baked many "family favorite" snacks. She enjoyed music, knitting, reading and laughing at a good joke. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Mina found great joy in spending time at home with her husband, children and many grandchildren. She shared her love for the Lord with her family and friends through her words and actions. Surviving are her six children: Hans Rodenburgh of Waterloo, IA, Ada and Norm Vander Weide of Grand Rapids, Ml, Phyllis and Jerry Mulder of Sioux City, IA, Ron and Cherie Rodenburgh of Weatherford, TX, Jim and Denise Rodenburgh of Sioux Center and Mike and Angie Rodenburgh of Sioux Center, as well as 29 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Mina is also survived by a brother-in-law, Simon Rodenburgh of Sioux Center. Mina was preceded in death by Lane, her husband of 59 years, her parents, a brother and a sister.
