Harold Sneller, 76 of Sioux Center died Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM with the family present from 5-7PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. The Sneller family prefer memorials be directed to Hope Haven International Wheelchair Ministry. Harold Rodney Sneller was born November 19, 1934 to Gerrit and Grace (Bartels) Sneller on a farm north of Hull. He attended country school through the 8th grade. Harold married Henrietta Vande Kamp December 16, 1955 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Harold was a lifetime farmer and dairyman. The couple resided on their Sioux Center farm until 2002, when they moved to town. After retiring on the farm, Harold worked daily at Dooyema Poultry Farm and later volunteered at Hope Haven. Harold was a lifetime member of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center where he faithfully served as an usher for many years as well as collected fellowship pads every Monday morning. Harold also served as a RCYF sponsor for 6 years. Harold enjoyed his many years of dairy farming, as well as spending many hours at his work bench. He had many past times, playing cards, especially Rook, with great friends and family. As a father and grandfather, he treasured the moments watching his children and grandchildren in their many activities. Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Henrietta Sneller of Sioux Center; four children and spouses: Karla and Brian Bronzynski of Eldora, IA; Darwin and Kathy Sneller of Sebawaing, MI; Glen and Laura Sneller of Sioux Center, IA; Kathy and Kit Doornink of Belle Fourche, SD; grandchildren: Kella & Tyler Minteer, Kaden Bronzynski, Kole Bronzynski, Emily Sneller, Matt & Natalie Sneller, Eric Sneller, Ryan & Jenna Sneller, Joshua Sneller, Kara Sneller, Brent Sneller, Tasha Doornink, Kris Doornink and one sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Jack Zylstra of Sheldon, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Grace Sneller.
