July 16, 1941 — November 2, 2010

Fran Zeutenhorst, 69, of rural Hawarden, IA died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital of Sioux Center. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8PM, with family present from 5-7PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. A prayer service for family and friends will be held Friday at 10:15AM at the Lebanon Christian Reformed Church of rural Sioux Center, IA. Interment will follow the prayer service in the Lebanon Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Friday at 11AM at the Lebanon Christian Reformed Church of rural Sioux Center with Rev. Jeff Scripps and Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. The Zeutenhorst family prefer memorials be directed to Sioux Center Home Health and Hospice. Frances Faye Zeutenhorst was born July 16, 1941 to William and Dena (Krommendyk) Bolkema in Hull, Iowa. She was raised on a farm in the Rock Valley, Iowa area. Fran received her education at Rock Valley Christian School and Western Christian High School. Fran married Howard Zeutenhorst on November 16, 1960 in Rock Valley. Fran was a longtime member of the Lebanon Christian Reformed Church and enjoyed being involved in a wide variety of church activities. Fran's free time was spent sewing, crocheting and working on hardanger projects. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren participate in activities, and play cards with her family and friends. Fran enjoyed watching Minnesota Twins baseball games on television. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Howard of Hawarden, IA; 5 children and their families: Deb and Mark Swets of Carmel, IA and their children: Jackie and Seth Huizenga of Carmel and their children: Addisyn, Averi and Alli Huizenga Jamie Swets of Denver, CO and Tyler Swets of Carnes, IA Darryl and Christy Zeutenhorst of Hawarden and their children: Jeremy and Brandee Zeutenhorst of Hull Jesse Zeutenhorst and Josie Zeutenhorst Dan Zeutenhorst of Hawarden, and his son: Brendan Zeutenhorst Diane and Jack Vander Stoep of Dublin, OH and their children: Emma, Sophie and Jackson Vander Stoep Tim Zeutenhorst and his children: Benjamin, Samantha and Sydney Zeutenhorst Also left to cherish her memory are a brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Hester Bolkema of Sioux Center; sister, Bernice Ymker of Sioux Falls, SD as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother-in-law, John Ymker.
