Tillie Vanden Brink, 86 of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, March 19, 2010 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. A visitation will be held Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center from 4-8PM with the family present from 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30AM at Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. John Lee officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center. The Vanden Brink family prefer memorials be directed to CHEARS Home Health and Hospice of Sioux Center. Condolences may be sent at www.MFHonline.com. Tillie Vanden Brink was born November 7, 1923 in Lebanon, Iowa to Charlie D. and Maggie (Toering) Mulder. She was raised on a farm near Alton, Iowa and started her education at country school before attending Orange City Christian School and later graduating from the eighth grade in Alton. Tillie worked, for a few years, as a housekeeper for various neighbors. Prior to getting married, Tillie worked for two years at Sioux Center Produce. She married Steve Vanden Brink on February 6, 1952 at the Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. They farmed in a couple of locations around Sioux Center until they purchased a farm near Boyden in March of 1972. In addition to being involved in the dairy farm, the couple raised cattle and pigs. In 1983, they retired from farming and moved to Sioux Center. Tillie was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center. She enjoyed cleaning her house and cherished visiting with family and friends. Tillie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Roger Van Voorst; son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Melinda Vanden Brink all of Sioux Center; three grandchildren: Greg Van Voorst of Sioux Falls, Stephanie and Shelley Van Voorst both of Sioux Center; two step grandsons, Rusty Keith and his wife, Cathy of Hull, and Randy Keith of Sioux Center, along with two step great-grandsons, Darien Keith and Jett Keith. Also left to cherish her memory are a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kay Mulder of Ireton; five sisters-in-law: Garlene Mulder of Rock Rapids; Nelvina Mulder of Sioux Center; Gertrude Vanden Brink and Josie Koedam of Rock Valley; Henrietta Vanden Brink of Hull; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rich and Lavina Vanden Brink, John and Henrietta Vanden Brink, all of Sioux Center and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Steve; a beloved infant daughter, Lauralea; her parents; sister, Sena Mulder; brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Suzanne Mulder; brothers: Henry Mulder and Harry Mulder; sister-in-law, Joyce Mulder and brother-in-law, Everett Koedam.
