Tillie Van Voorst was born on August 19, 1924 to Peter & Lydia Wielenga in Sioux Center. She married the love of her life, John H. Van Voorst, on April 12, 1943 in Abilene, TX. Tillie volunteered for numerous organizations where she shared her gift of music, which impacted other's lives like a stone dropped into a lake. The stone quickly disappears from sight, but its impact leaves behind a series of ripples that broaden and reach across the water. In the same way, Tillie lived for Christ and will leave behind an influence for good that will reach the lives of many others to come. She modeled a Christ like life for her 13 grandchildren and 24 (and two on the way) great grandchildren, as well as her children and their spouses: Lois and Lloyd De Jong, Ken and Sandy Van Voorst, Judy and Mark Vander Stouwe all of Sioux Center, Linetta and Mike Pollock of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Mrs. Lydia Tamminga of Caledonia, MI, Mrs. Mary Ann Van Bemmel of Rock Valley and sister-in-law, Mrs. Katherine Wielenga of Ontario, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Howard; a great granddaughter, Katelyn De Jong; her parents; a brother, Jake Wielenga; a sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and Gene Hanson and brothers-in-law: Jim Tamminga, and Henry Van Bemmel. Arvilla Sent: 1/26/2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donna Vande Kieft Everett WA Relationship: Friend For Til's Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you all. A flood of childhood memories surfaced for me when I heard of her passing--family times at Okoboji, 4-H Club activities, filling milk jugs on the dairy farm, and more. Til was always friendly, a positive, kind presence in the community, a pillar of strength and faith. She will be greatly missed. The loss for her family and friends is great, and her gain is to be with God. The separation is challenging. May you go gently with peace that passes understanding. Sincerely, Donna Vande Kieft Sent: 1/27/2010 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Donna Beernink Sioux Center IA Relationship: Friend My deepest symathy to all of you as you grieve the loss of your mother and grandmother. Till was a very special person, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile. She was eager to speak of her faith, but more importantly, she lived it. She will be missed by the many persons whose lives she touched. May God comfort and bless all of you. Sent: 1/27/2010
