Helen Bos

Helen Bos, 72, of Sioux Center, IA died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 peacefully at her home.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM with the family present from 6-8PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

A prayer service for family and friends will be held Friday at 10:00AM at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will follow the prayer service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 11AM at First Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Carl Klompien officiating.

The Bos Family prefer memorials be directed to Dordt College or Hospice of Sioux Center.

Helen J. Bos was born May 12, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gerrit and Jennie (Hulst) De Vries. She graduated from South Christian High in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Helen married Abraham Bos on August 9, 1957, in Grand Rapids. She worked 14 years as a Congregate Meals Manager and most recently volunteered as secretary for the Regency Board of Directors.

Helen enjoyed reading, cooking and going on trips with her children and grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her husband, Abe Bos of Sioux Center; four children: Dawn and Tim Goslinga of Lake Worth, FL; Jim and Glenda Bos of Sioux Center; Mary and Roland Ritzema of Waupun, WI; and Matt and Teri Bos of Orange City; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Barb De Vries of Grand Rapids, MI; sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Don Buning of Jenison, MI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and June Klanderman of Grand Rapids, MI; sister-in-law, Marge Bos of Seal Beach, CA as well as many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Ruth Bos; brother-in-law, Ralph Bos and sister-in-law, Alice Klanderman.
