Justin Remmers, 25, of Waterloo, IA, formerly of Alton, IA, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM at the BJ Haan Auditorium on the campus of Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA. Interment will follow in Nassau Township Cemetery of rural Alton, IA. A visitation will be held Friday from 4-8PM, with the family present from 6-8PM, at Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center. Condolences may be sent at www.MFHonline.com. Justin Ray Remmers was born June 16, 1985, in Watertown, SD. He lived there for the first three years of his life, then lived in Estelline, SD until he was eleven at which time he moved with his family to Orange City, IA area. Justin attended Sioux Center Schools, and graduated in 2004. He attended NWICC in Sheldon for one year and worked at Family Table. He moved to Dubuque, IA and worked at the Olive Garden and Village Inn. Currently he was living in Waterloo/Cedar Falls and working as an assistant kitchen manager at the Brown Bottle Restaurant. Justin had developed a special relationship with Kayli Taylor, and had many friends. Justin was known for being a social, outgoing person, great cook, and loved playing guitar, singing, playing interactive computer games and fishing. Survivors include his parents, Brad and Deirdre Remmers of Alton; sister and brother-in-law, Mariah and Joel Baseman of Neenah, WI; his brother, Blair Remmers of Sioux City and girlfriend, Kayli Taylor of Urbandale, IA. Justin is also survived by his grandparents: Arlene Remmers of Sioux Center and Allan and Delores Killam of Pine River, WI along with aunts and uncles: Kim Wilke of Kimball, NE, Lois Remmers of River Falls, WI, Keith Killam of Pine River, WI and Ron and Jeanine Killam of Hortonville, WI. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Loyal Remmers; and two uncles: Greg Remmers and Rick Killam.
