Her first marriage was to Leune Lorvan. In 1954, they had two children: a son Khay and a daughter Khouang in Laos. In the same year in which the French finally lost to Vietnam, she fled from Vietnam to Laos.

In 1975, the communists took over Laos and in 1980 they fled to Thailand. Then in 1981, with the help of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, they arrived in the United States. They were baptized in 1989. The Lord has also blessed her with 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Heuang lived a very long happy life in Sioux Center with her family and friends until she finally went to be with the Lord in heaven.
