Dave Kamerman

November 10, 1951 — December 30, 2008

David A. Kamerman 57, of Sioux Center died Tuesday December 30, 2008 at the Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center.

Memorial services will be held Friday January 2, 2009 at 11AM at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Roger Voskuil officiating. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.

A Prayer service will be held Friday at 10AM at First Reformed Church.

Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8PM with the family present from 5-8PM at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.

In Lieu of flowers the Kamerman family prefers memorials to the Mescalero Reformed Church in Mescalero, New Mexico., CHEARS Home Health and Hospice or The Sioux County Youth Fair.



David Arthur Kamerman was born November 10, 1951 in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was the son of Arthur William Kamerman and Anna Marie (Jansen) Kamerman. Dave grew up in Sioux Center and attended country school before graduating from Sioux Center High School. Dave attended Iowa State University earning a degree in Animal Science.

On June 1, 1973, Dave married Mary Lou Deardorff at the Panther Creek Church of The Brethren in Adel, IA. To this union three children were born: Tyler David (1978), Jana Lynn (1984), and Wes James (1986).

After their marriage, Dave and Mary moved to Iowa Falls, IA where Dave began his career with Production Credit Association. Following a move to Webster City, IA with PCA, Dave and Mary moved to Sioux Center where Dave continued to work with PCA. In 1987, Dave began working at American State Bank, where he continued until September.

Dave was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, where he served as a Deacon, RCYF sponsor, Sunday School teacher, and was a part of many trips to teach Bible School at Mescalero Reformed Church in Mescalero, New Mexico. He very much enjoyed being a part of the church and working with the young people.

Dave served as a sheep superintendent at the Sioux County Youth Fair for many years and was involved with the Sheep show in various ways for most of his life. He also enjoyed traveling, fishing, golfing, singing and listening to gospel music, sharing his amazing sense of humor, working around the farm, raising sheep and spending time with his family.

Left to cherish Dave's memory are his wife Mary, his children: Tyler Kamerman and wife Jessica of Playa Del Rey, California, Jana Van Gorp and husband Luke of Des Moines, Iowa, and Wes Kamerman of Sioux Center, his father Art Kamerman of Sioux Center, his brothers and sisters: Harlan Kamerman and wife Norma, Donna Kamerman, Rob Kamerman and wife Lori, all of Sioux Center, Ruth Hoyler and husband Dave of Amarillo, TX, nieces and nephews and many friends.

Preceding Dave in death was his mother, Ann Kamerman.
