Paul Smith, 58, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.

A funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30am at the First Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Mark Verbruggen officiating. Interment will follow the service in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.

Visitation will be held Monday from 4pm - 8pm, with the family present from 6:30pm 8pm at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

The Smith Family prefers memorials to CHEARS Home Health and Hospice of Sioux Center.



Paul Ernest Smith was born on April 23, 1950 to Lem and Lindy (Reese) Smith in Manchester, Tennessee. He married Patricia Lynn Vos on May 31, 1974 at the First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Paul and Patricia lived in Orange City where he enjoyed trucking and later settled in Sioux Center where he worked at various northwest Iowa businesses throughout his career. Paul enjoyed playing cards, listening to bluegrass music and his children and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Patricia Lynn (Vos) Smith of Sioux Center; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Stefenie Smith of Rock Valley and their four children: Emily, Mitchell, Clara, and Paige; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Shawn Andringa of Sanborn and their four children: Halle, Morgan, Riely and Thalan; sons: Brent Smith and Nathan Smith of Sioux Center; sister, Dorothy May of Illinois; brother, Harold Smith of Dike, IA; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Joann Smith of Manchester, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Gert Vos of Ripon, CA and brother-in-law, Kenny Vos of Hudson, SD.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Ann Vos; sister-in-law, Kathy Smith and sister-in-law, Midge Vos.
