RONALD KOOISTRA, 66, of Sioux Center, IA died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Duane Tinklenberg officiating. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 1pm at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church from 4pm to 8pm, with the family present from 6pm to 8pm.

Ron Kooistra was born on March 30, 1942, to Elmer and Leona (Engbers) Kooistra in Grand Rapids, MI. He was raised near Hawarden, IA and attended Ireton Christian grade school and West Sioux high school.
Ron married Margaret Beth (Punt) on January 15, 1965, at Carmel Reformed Church. The young couple lived on a farm north of Sioux Center most of their married life. Ron enjoyed farming, feeding cattle, driving truck, and horse-riding.
Their family enjoyed many trips to the Black Hills with the Sioux Center Saddle Club. Ron served on the Sioux Center Christian School board and served as a deacon at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Ron cherished family and friends, and was humbled by the love and many acts of kindness shown him in the last days of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margaret of Sioux Center; his children Kim & Steve Vant Hul of Sioux Falls, SD and grandchildren Amanda, Jonathan, and Michael; Wayne & Wilma Kooistra of Emo, Ontario and grandchildren Nico, Mika, and Grace; Deb Mueller of Sioux Center and grandchildren Sam and Brynn; Denise & Wade Vanden Berg of Sioux Falls and grandchildren Kayda, Elliot, and Chloe; his mother Leona Kooistra of Wyoming, Michigan; two brothers Dave & Bonnie Kooistra of Grandville, Michigan; Gerald & Judy Kooistra of Jamestown, Michigan; and two sisters; Sharon and Harlan Meendering of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Rose & Jeff Karsten of Grandville, Michigan.
