Beverly Jean (De Zeeuw) De Boom was born Nov. 21, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of John E. and Greta De Zeeuw. She had been a resident of Wauchula, Florida for the past 22 years.
In her teenage years, Bev made profession of faith in Jesus Christ at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. In 1977, she graduated from high school in Sioux Center. Bev was united in marriage to Jan De Boom, son of Richard and Betty (Bonnema) De Boom on March 21, 1980 in Sioux Center. After moving to Florida, while raising her family and maintaining full-time employment, she earned her masters degree in business.
She went on to become a computer and business instructor at Hardee Junior High School in Wauchula. Bev was also President of the Hardee County Teachers Union for four years until she became ill. She participated in the Positive Intervention Academy program for youth in school. She taught the Extreme Fellowship of Christ youth group sponsored by Heartland Community Church. The youth in this group were very dear to her. It was said, she did so much, but never wanted to take credit for anything. Bev was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula, where she was a devoted youth leader and Sunday school teacher.
Bev was a Relay For Life participant, enjoyed riding horse with her family and collecting Dutch dishes and pictures. She was especially fond of spending time with their children, grandchildren and friends, and her travels home to Sioux Center to visit family.

Bev left this world loving her Savior as she did during her lifetime, not afraid of death, and at peace. She was looking forward to the time when our family would be together in heaven, forever.
