Larry L. Huisman

April 5, 1952 — November 20, 2006

Larry L. Huisman, 54, of Sioux Center died Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Orange City Area Health System as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.



A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 11:00am Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Reverend R. Van Rathbun officiating.



No visitation will be held.


Larry Lee Huisman was born in Sioux Center on April 5, 1952 to Bernard and Geneva (De Boer) Huisman. Larry was raised in Sioux Center through the eighth grade. At that time his family moved to Artesia, California where he attended high school. As a young man Larry lived and worked in various communities in California. On November 18, 1978 he married Sheryl Brownfield in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were blessed with a daughter and later divorced.




In 1992 Larry returned to Sioux Center. He was employed at Joes Ready Mix as a pump truck driver. He also worked at Docs Caf as a cook and server. He currently was working for Tri-State Concrete Pumping as a driver.




Larry was an avid NASCAR racing fan and loved watching football. He cherished the time he spent with his daughter and his extended family.




Surviving is his daughter, Spring Huisman of Sioux Center; his sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Arnie Schelling of Sioux Center; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Lorri Huisman of Phoenix, Arizona; brother Russell Huisman, Sr. of Long Beach, California along with his numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.




Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Geneva Huisman.
