Tracy Juffer

Tracy Juffer, 96 of Sioux Center died Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at the Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center.



Memorial Services will be held Thursday September 7, 2006 at 11am at Central Reformed Church of Sioux Center with Rev. Van Rathbun officiating. Interment will be held prior at Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.



A prayer service will be held Thursday September 7, 2006 at 10am in the Central Reformed Church Chapel.



Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home from 2-8pm with the family present from 6:30-8pm.




The Juffer family prefers memorials be directed to the Sioux Center Community Hospital Foundation / Royale meadows landscaping project.


Tracy (Van Driel) Juffer was born November 17, 1909 on a farm near Middleburg, Iowa to Pieter Teunis Van Driel and Jaantje (Van Ess) Van Driel. She was the youngest of 8 children. She had 4 brothers, Abe, Arie, Casey, and Pete, and 3 sisters, Pauline Kooiker, Nellie Harmelink, and Tracy Van Driel (died at the age of a year and a half).



She met Elmer Juffer at the Middleburg Store when he came to pickup eggs and chicken. They were married January 10, 1930 in LeMars, IA. They lived in Sioux Center the rest of their lives. Tracy worked as a nurses aide for Dr. McGilvra and also in the Sioux Center Hospital for 25 years. Elmer died August 21, 1994.



The couple had three children, Wayne, Ron, and Linda. Ron married Peg Bauer, and Linda married Gary Te Grotenhuis. They enjoyed 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Tracy loved having her family home and making food for them.



Tracy was a long-time member of Central Reformed Church. She taught children in Sunday School and was a member of the Womens Church Guild.



Tracy enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and cooking. She often shared the food she made with neighbors and people who were ill or hurting. She crocheted an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren until she couldnt see well enough to do it anymore.



Tracy is survived by her three children: Wayne of Sioux Center, Ron and Peg of Orange City, and Linda and Gary Te Grotenhuis of Orange City; five grandchildren: Julie (Juffer) and Jeff Russo of Chicago, IL, Jane Juffer and her husband Grant Farred of State College, PA, Jeff Te Grotenhuis of Des Moines, IA, Kris (Te Grotenhuis) and Jason Olson of Estherville, IA, Todd and Diane Te Grotenhuis of Orange City; and 10 great-grandchildren: Victoria, Andrew, Alex, Mike, Joshua, Hannah, Gracie, Samuel, Justin and Eli.



She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years Elmer; and all of her siblings and their spouses.
