PRISCILLA ZEUTENHORST, 88, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Thursday, 7/27, at Royale Meadows Care Center in Sioux Center.
A memorial service will be held Monday, 7/31, at 11am in the Chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center. Interment will be held prior to the memorial service in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
A prayer service will be held Monday at 10:15am in the Chapel of First Reformed Church of Sioux Center.
Visitation will be held Sunday, 7/30, from 2pm to 8pm, with the family present from 2pm to 4pm at the Memorial Funeral Home of Sioux Center.
She was born to Gerrit L. and Jennie (Vermeer) Vande Berg on November 14, 1917, on the farm near Sioux Center. She attended Sioux Center schools and graduated from Sioux Center High.
On December 16, 1938, Priscilla married John C. Zeutenhorst in Sioux Center. Priscilla was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. She was an active member of the Mary Circle. Priscilla was a homemaker. She loved to bake, especially special birthday cakes for her grandchildren. She baked cakes for each of their birthdays until they got married-so she has made over 130 different birthday cakes. Priscilla was known for the beautiful handwork she did whether it was quilting, tatting, knitting, crocheting or hardanger.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter: Gerard Jordy Zeutenhorst of Rock Valley, Marlyn and Linda Zeutenhorst of Sioux Center, and Phyllis and John J. Franken of Sioux Center; seven grandchildren: Pat and Al Van Zanten, Pam and Dave De Roon, Paul and Melinda Zeutenhorst, Gary and Kim Zeutenhorst, Becky and Tim Dykshorn, Kristi and Shane Vander Kooi, Karri and Mike Faber; twenty great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters, Geraldine Wynia of Scottsdale, AZ, Louise Punt and Gertrude Jansen both of Sioux Center; one brother, Lowell Vande Berg of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John; her parents; one grandson, Brian Jon Franken; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Zeutenhorst; and one sister, Jeanne Punt.
